Online Presence – HELP!

Making sure your online presence is a good one is so important.

Everyone is online. Showing the customers what you can do for them in a concise and clean way. Customers want to find what they are looking for, fast and easily.

People want to be able to get where they want in as few as 3 clicks. Google is looking for that also. Google’s algorithm is looking for ease of use for their customers or they wont promote you. No one wants to loose Googles support. Google has more than 40,000 searches every second, which amounts to more than 3.5 billion searches per day. You want to show up during those searches. Its vital to make Google happy so that you will reap the benefits.

Use the search information to your benefit.

Spend time entering information into google search bar to see what people are searching. Start to type different key phrases or words that are key to your business. Ex. Carpet Cleaning in …….. look for the suggested searches pop up. Make sure those key phrases you find are added to all of your key words when adding a picture or blog to your website. Anytime you have the ability to add tags, take advantage of it. Its not the most fun thing to do but it is worth it. Start a list you keep on your computer of different key words and add to it as time passes. You will build an amazing tag list that will help google find you when people are searching for things such as “carpet cleaning in Georgia.”

Pictures and videos are where it is at!

People who want to have all the details and a lot of information are few and far between now a days. Finding key points to highlight and maybe having a click for more information button for those who do indeed want more information. Pictures need to capture peoples attention and get the point across about what is being conveyed. A picture is worth a thousand words…..make sure you are saying the right ones.

Helpful Hint: Remember when it comes to pictures make sure that you are investing in them. Do not search Google and pull a bunch of free images off. Its a scam some companies are trying to pull, having you grab those images and thinking they are free to use and then you receive a bill in the mail for rights. Look into companies that off stock images for a small price or hire someone to get those shots you desperately need to convey the right message.

Videos are all the rage.

Everyone wants to see a video. Its an easier way to convey your message and what you want your customers to know. You are telling them directly and that is golden. Show them you are friendly and personal. People want to connect to you and your business. Especially in our industry, we are going into their homes and people need to trust us. Pictures of your technicians and their smiling faces inspires confidence in your customers. Video the dynamic in your office. Show you like to have a good time and let people relate to you.

Your videos need to capture their attention right away. You can feel like with a video you automatically got their attention but that cant be farther from the truth. We are all so busy and easily distracted. You have to get their attention and retain it. Keep it short. People on average want to watch an online video for 1 min. Thats not a long time. 60 seconds to make a point and a powerful one. Your 1 min has to convince them your it! Put the best stuff first and keep it personal.

Im working on this as much as you are. Its a learning game we are all trying to grasp and make the most of it. Don’t give up, you got this.

Things are changing and keeping up with the times may prove difficult but its definitely worth the effort. Your customers will see it and hopefully you will be their next call!
