Jeremy Reets started in water restoration in 1990. He is known as the innovator of the TES/ETES drying systems and a discipline of drying called Directed Heat Drying™. He developed the Evaporation Potential formula for use by restorers. He opened Reets Drying Academy and flood house in 2005 to provide water damage restoration education. In 2011, Jeremy developed Reets.TV, a series of online water restoration training packages.
Owner
Joe teaches with a background of over 30 years in the cleaning and restoration industry. His experience includes daily experiences in direct operations of construction, professional cleaning, restoration, inspection and consultation that allow him to help guide individual cleaners, restoration contractors and business owners. Joe also has ongoing experience as a consultant to insurance companies and was employed as a property claims adjuster with a major insurance carrier.
Joe is a Master Textile Cleaner, Master Smoke Restorer, Master Water Restorer and Senior Carpet Inspector. Being one of the industry’s foremost authorities on restoration topics, he is a licensed general contractor and his firm processed hundreds of fire, water and mold losses annually. The combination of working as a contractor and later as a claims adjuster allow him to bring a perspective to the classroom that enables insight into both areas of restoration work.
Previous designations with the IICRC include member of development task force for Applied Structural Drying and Applied Microbial Remediation Technician, Certification Division Chair over Restoration Division and Maintenance Cleaning Division Technical Advisory Committee Chair for ASD, FSRT and WRT, and Chair of the Certification Council/ Executive Officer for six years overseeing the technical development for all five divisions – cleaning, inspection, restoration, hard surface/maintenance cleaning and apprentice/basic skills. These divisions consisted of 26 different Technical Advisory Committees for all the different certification courses. He has held the position of Vice-Chair of the Certification Council and Restoration Division Chair and is certified in all divisions of the IICRC.
Joe teaches many training classes as an IICRC-approved instructor and is approved in approximately 20 states to teach continuing education to the insurance industry in water, mold, fire and odor classes. He has a teaching style of down-to-earth yet with a dynamic personality. As an IICRC-approved instructor since 1993, he currently teaches classes in Water Damage Restoration, Fire/Smoke Restoration, Odor Control, Carpet Cleaning, Color Repair and Applied Structural Drying. Until 2007, he oversaw 4 divisions of a previously-owned company including construction, cleaning, fire/water/mold remediation, distribution, and personally taught and administered the training facility.

Nick Sharp has worked with Jeremy Reets for over a decade now. He started in carpet cleaning and mitigation before moving to the construction side as a project manager. He then was the senior estimator for Champion Construction for over 8 years. Since its inception in 2015, Nick has been an instructor of our Restoration Estimating & Negotiating course. His most recent venture is as a restoration estimate consultant.

David is a Triple Master with the IICRC and has a background in full service cleaning and restoration, estimating, operations, and reconstruction. David serves as Chair of the Exams and Education Committee for the IICRC and is currently serving on the Board of Directors as 1st VP for the IICRC. Not only that, his background as a firefighter, EMT, and HazMat tech makes him an excellent candidate to discuss fire loss and cleaning. He is a knowledgeable and hilarious instructor considered to be one of the best instructors in the industry!
