What is the IICRC Applied Structural Drying Class (ASD class)?

The IICRC Applied Structural Drying Course at Reets Drying Academy is THE course for the water restoration professional that wants to advance their knowledge and skills to the next  level! What makes the ASD class different?

Hands-on training! YOU are in the middle of a water damage in our house and YOU dry it out. YOU select and set up air movers, dehumidifiers, air filtration devices, and wood floor drying equipment. YOU use state of the art moisture meters and IR cameras to locate damage and monitor the drying process.

To illustrate, it’s one thing to read a recipe and watch a chef make a dish on YouTube. It’s another thing to work with a chef adjusting the seasoning to taste or giving you tips on when to lift the pan off the fire to cool it for a few moments to make sure it is thoroughly cooking without burning. The result: the absolute best  dish you could prepare.

The ASD class at Reets Drying Academy puts you in the middle of the action first watching Chef David or Chef Jeremy at work, then having them watch you and help you become a great water technician. They give tips on how to set the equipment, what happens to the air as you set air movers, the ways to find the water (not look for dry) when monitoring. This leads to techs that learn how to leverage the technical side of drying to maximize the profitability of each project.

Should Your Techs Get the IICRC Applied Structural Drying Certification?

The top restoration companies worldwide insist on their technicians attaining IICRC ASD certification. IICRC certified technicians are preferred by insurance companies and customers. ASD certification helps technicians and the companies they work for:

  • Prove proficiency in water damage mitigation following the ANSI/IICRC S500 standard
  • Assure customers that their project was completed following established industry standards
  • Work more profitably by doing the job right

At Reets Drying Academy we teach technicians to ā€˜do the job right’ according to ANSI/IICRC standards when they are working in customers’ water damaged properties. During Applied Structural Drying classes technicians learn to apply the science of drying in the exclusive RDA flood house! We take the bookwork to the flood house to prepare techs for the challenges they will face in the field. More than just training about drying, we are preparing technicians for a rewarding and profitable career!

What Options Are Available for Taking the ASD Course?
